5 Seats for Wicklow Constituency

I welcome the sensible decision by the Constituencies Commission to re-assign East Carlow to the Carlow-Kilkenny Constituency and to allocate 5 Dáil seats to County Wicklow in its own right.
This reflects the reality of population growth in both constituencies and resolves a very difficult situation for thousands of people in East Carlow who were living in one county but being represented by TDs in another.
It also means that the people of County Wicklow will be represented in Dáil Éireann by 5 TDs whose sole focus should now be on their Wicklow constituents.
I will be standing as an Independent candidate in the next election and I will be offering a clear independent voice for the people of County Wicklow in Dáil Éireann.
